On October 14, the 2024 Investment Promotion Conference for Yunnan’s Dianzhong New Area was successfully held in Seoul.
The event attracted representatives from various organizations, including the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, the China-Japan-Korea Cooperation Secretariat, the Korea-China Friendship Association, and the Korea-China Civil Economic Cooperation Forum, along with over 70 businesses from South Korea. The primary aim was to deepen exchanges and cooperation between companies from both nations and to boost regional economic development.
Yang Dongwei, Deputy Director of the Management Committee of the Dianzhong New Area, chaired the meeting, while Hong Changpyo, Director of the Global Research Institute at the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, delivered the opening remarks.
In his address, Yang highlighted that the Dianzhong New Area focuses on industries such as biomedicine, electronic information, new materials, and aviation, which align well with the industrial development trends in Seoul. He pointed out that this synergy in industrial structure presents favorable conditions for exploring collaboration models like “Korean brands + Dianzhong manufacturing” and “International markets + Dianzhong resources,” thereby fostering a mutually beneficial partnership.
During the conference, the Investment Promotion Bureau of Dianzhong New Area presented an overview of the investment environment, favorable policies, and key industrial development directions, expressing a warm invitation for Korean companies to invest. The session included interactive Q&A, which was well received. Notably, a collaboration agreement was signed between the Dianzhong Science City Management Bureau and the Korean company, Libuizhe, affirming a joint venture.
Participating companies expressed that the event not only showcased the promising investment prospects and development potential of the Dianzhong New Area but also invigorated regional economic cooperation. They hope this opportunity will lead to further trade exchanges and partnerships, paving the way for a successful and collaborative future.
