On October 15th, a strategic cooperation signing ceremony took place between the UTMB® Group and Shanxi Longjing Sports Co., Ltd. at the Ziyu Mountain Villa in Beijing. During the event, both parties provided insights into the upcoming 2025 Yunqiu Mountain Trail Race by UTMB®, which will introduce an innovative “dual-week competition system,” making it the largest event in the global UTMB® World Series.

Catherine, founder and chair of the UTMB® Group, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “We are delighted to have established a partnership with Shanxi Longjing Sports from 2023 onwards, successfully executing both the 2023 and 2024 editions of the Yunqiu Mountain Trail Race by UTMB®. This has highlighted Longjing’s capabilities, reinforcing our commitment to work together. Starting in 2025, our collaborative events will expand to include the Xiamen Trail Race by UTMB® and the Dajingmen Great Wall Trail Race by UTMB®, with plans to develop more UTMB® events in China.”

Qian Xin, deputy general manager of Shanxi Longjing Sports, commented, “We are honored to have formed a long-term partnership with the UTMB® Group. Together, we will strive to contribute significantly to the growth of domestic sports. This upgrade in our strategic collaboration marks a new phase for Longjing Sports in the mainland market, as we now hold comprehensive operating rights for events in this region. We aim to explore diverse cooperation models with industry associations, local governments, and event organizing companies to create more opportunities for the development of trail running competitions.”

Since entering into a partnership agreement in 2023, the UTMB® Group and Longjing Sports have been committed to the operation and promotion of the UTMB® World Series. Longjing Sports successfully hosted the 2023 and 2024 Yunqiu Mountain Trail Races by UTMB®, with the inaugural 2023 event receiving an impressive global satisfaction ranking of second place in a post-event survey within the UTMB® World Series.

In June 2024, Longjing Sports was granted exclusive rights by the UTMB® Group to develop, operate, and promote the UTMB® World Series across six provinces and municipalities in mainland China: Beijing, Guangdong, Fujian, Sichuan, Yunnan, and Hebei.

On September 17, 2024, Longjing Sports and the UTMB® Group jointly announced two new events in mainland China, the Dajingmen Great Wall Trail Race by UTMB® and the Xiamen Trail Race by UTMB®.

This collaboration has garnered significant attention and anticipation within the industry. Looking ahead, both parties are committed to extensive cooperation to create internationally recognized trail running events and enhance the competition experience for participants.
