On October 21, local time, the eighth session of the 15th National Assembly of Vietnam commenced. During this session, all National Assembly representatives voted to elect Le Quang Manh, the Standing Secretary of the Central Party Committee, as President of Vietnam.
Le Quang Manh is a member of the 13th Central Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam. He was born in August 1957 in Phu Tho province. From 2016 to 2024, he served as the Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army. In May 2024, he took on the role of Standing Secretary of the Central Party Committee.
