Musk announces $1 million will be randomly distributed to voters who signed the petition until election day

As the race for the U.S. presidency heats up, former President Trump is facing off against Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. On October 19, renowned entrepreneur Elon Musk made headlines by announcing that he will be randomly awarding $1 million each day to a Pennsylvania voter who signs a petition for the America PAC until Election Day, November 5.

According to The Hill, this petition advocates for free speech and gun rights. Speaking at a pro-Trump event in Pennsylvania, Musk expressed his wish to raise awareness about the petition.

Reuters reported that the first recipient of the $1 million prize was identified on the same day—a Pennsylvania man named John Drell.

Pennsylvania is seen as a critical swing state in the lead-up to the 2024 election, which makes Musk’s initiative particularly noteworthy. The Hill also mentioned that Musk has extended his outreach to voters in other swing states, offering $47 to anyone who signs the petition and an additional $47 for each person they successfully refer.

Musk established the America PAC to support Trump’s campaign and has already contributed at least $75 million to the organization, according to previously released federal documents.
