China-Singapore Enterprise Green Development Exchange Week kicks off, five new USTech companies come to China to seek cooperation

On October 21, the China-Singapore Green Development Exchange Week and the inaugural market access support event for the Ecocity Research and Innovation Center at Singapore University of Technology and Design were launched at the Low Carbon Experience Center in the China-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City. This event will run until October 25, featuring exchanges in both Tianjin and Beijing.

Can you tell us about the significance of this exchange week?

The initiative highlights the establishment of the Ecocity Research and Innovation Center on November 21, 2023, which focuses on multi-disciplinary collaboration projects aimed at promoting the conversion of green, low-carbon, and intelligent technologies into practical applications.

What can you share about the startups participating in this event?

We are excited to welcome five outstanding startups from Singapore, representing various fields including electric vehicle services, artificial intelligence detection, medical equipment, and green building design. These companies are at different stages of funding and will engage in regional assessments and roadshows to gain a deeper understanding of the business environment and market access policies in the Ecocity. They will also explore opportunities to establish a presence here.

What activities are planned for participants during the event?

Throughout the event, companies and researchers will visit key enterprises in the Ecocity, participate in roadshows, and connect with local businesses and investment institutions in Tianjin. Following that, they will travel to Beijing to meet with additional investors to secure resources.

Looking ahead, how do you envision the growth of the collaboration between China and Singapore?

With ongoing support from both governments, we aim to continuously promote the development of the Ecocity Research and Innovation Center. Our goal is to attract and incubate high-quality projects, nurture talent, and accelerate the construction of a low-carbon circular economy within the Ecocity.

This event is co-hosted by the China-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City Investment and Development Company, the China-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City Administrative Committee, and the Singapore University of Technology and Design, with joint organization from the Ecocity Research and Innovation Center and DayDayUp International Innovation Accelerator.
