During a recent event in Baoding, Hebei, Chinese Ambassador to Japan Wu Jianghao delivered a video address at the “Ceramic Harmony: Sino-Japanese Cultural Exchange in Ceramics” event on October 23.
Ambassador Wu emphasized that ceramics encapsulate the rich spiritual aspirations of both nations and have fostered significant cultural exchanges. He noted that the current phase of Sino-Japanese relations is crucial for improvement and development. Wu expressed hope that individuals within the ceramics community from both countries would join forces to further explore and leverage their historical and cultural ties, thereby playing a unique and positive role in enhancing Sino-Japanese relations.
In the afternoon, the series of events titled “Entering Chinese Civilization: Elegant Ceramics and Millennia of Porcelain Language” successfully took place. The main venue was in Quyang, Baoding, with additional locations in Tokyo and Osaka. Minister Xie Yong from the Chinese Embassy in Japan attended the Tokyo session and delivered remarks, expressing his desire for this exchange event to serve as an opportunity for more Japanese people to learn about and understand China, contributing positively to Sino-Japanese friendship and cooperation.
This cultural exchange initiative was co-organized by the People’s Government of Baoding City, World Knowledge Publishing, local governments in Japan, and the Chinese embassies and consulates in Japan. Ceramic artists from both countries, along with over a hundred young people and friendly individuals, participated online and offline, collectively experiencing the charm of Chinese ceramic culture. The atmosphere at the event was vibrant and enthusiastic.
