On October 13, the “Elegant Attire and Winter Essence of Ancient Architecture—Harbin Confucius Temple Winter Travel Promotion Conference” took place in Harbin, attracting many locals and tourists excited to engage with the cultural displays and photography opportunities.
As part of the event, traditional attire restoration, a fashion show featuring Hanfu, and an exhibition themed around “Personification of Ice and Snow Culture” were showcased, captivating attendees who eagerly snapped photos.
The event was organized by the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and hosted by the Heilongjiang Provincial Museum of Ethnicities (Harbin Confucius Temple). Its purpose was to highlight the unique winter tourism resources of the Harbin Confucius Temple and explore new pathways and models for distinctive tourism, enhancing Heilongjiang’s winter ice and snow tourism appeal.
He Dabe, Deputy Director of the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and Director of the Provincial Cultural Relics Administration, remarked on the significant historical and educational value of the Harbin Confucius Temple. He pointed out that its profound cultural heritage and unique visitor experiences have made it a favorite destination for tourists. The promotion aimed to leverage traditional culture to unearth tourism resources and broaden collaboration across various sectors, contributing fresh ideas to boost the city’s economic growth and enhance its image.
During the presentation, a promotional video showcased the winter travel potential of the Harbin Confucius Temple. An immersive demonstration of traditional “coming-of-age” ceremonies allowed the audience to experience ancient ritual culture firsthand. The Hanfu fashion show featured performances inspired by three masterpieces: “Han Palace Spring Dawn,” “Admonitions of the Instructress to the Court Ladies,” and “Along the River During the Qingming Festival,” highlighting the distinctive styles of different dynasties and celebrating the beauty of traditional attire and makeup.
Additionally, the theme of “Personification of Ice and Snow Culture” creatively blended the elegance of ancient clothing with modern, fresh ice and snow aesthetics, representing Harbin’s unique ice and snow culture alongside the iconic architectural features of the Confucius Temple. Nine travel agencies were named “Harbin Confucius Temple Winter Travel Promotion Officers,” promoting further engagement. Interactive photo stations encouraged visitors to capture memorable moments and enjoy a unique travel experience.
As a cultural landmark of the city, the Harbin Confucius Temple’s typical Eastern architectural style beautifully complements the winter ice landscape. The promotion conference served not only to deepen the integration of culture and tourism but also to provide visitors with new winter travel options that satisfy their explorative and photographic desires, injecting new vitality into Heilongjiang’s winter tourism scene.
