On October 17, the Upper Galilee region in northern Israel faced a barrage of rocket attacks from the direction of Lebanon, with reports indicating that as many as 30 rockets were fired. According to Kan public broadcasting, some of these rockets were intercepted, while others landed in open areas, and there have been no reported casualties so far.
Additionally, Yedioth Ahronoth’s electronic news outlet, YNET, detailed that earlier that day, rockets launched from Lebanon targeted northern Israel, with one rocket intercepted and another landing in an open area. Sirens sounded in several locations, including Haifa, Acre, and areas around the Carmel Mountain Range and Jezreel Valley.
In a separate incident, on the night of October 16, the Lower Galilee area, specifically around the city of Karmiel, experienced a rocket attack that resulted in one rocket striking a home in the nearby village of Majd al-Krum, injuring at least four people.
Furthermore, the Israeli military reported intercepting a hostile drone on the night of October 16, which was headed towards the Arava Desert in southern Israel. The drone was neutralized over the Mediterranean Sea before it could enter Israeli airspace.
