In a shocking incident earlier this month on the Long Island Expressway, two members of the Asian community were injured in a drive-by shooting while returning home. Police have since released information about the vehicle involved and are seeking public assistance in identifying it.
According to the New York City Police Department, the shooting occurred around 11 PM on the 5th, at the northeast corner of the Long Island Expressway and Douglaston Parkway. A silver car approached the victims’ vehicle and opened fire, shattering the window.
A 56-year-old man sustained injuries to his abdomen from shattered glass, while a 43-year-old man suffered injuries to his right arm and lost vision in his left eye due to the same debris. Both men were taken to North Shore Manhasset Hospital by emergency medical services and are currently in stable condition.
The assailant fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
