The Detroit Lions, part of the National Football League’s (NFL) NFC North division, have had a storied history spanning 94 years, yet they have never won a league championship. This season, however, the team has been off to a strong start, winning three out of their first four games.

Currently, four teams in the NFC share a record of 3 wins and 1 loss. Alongside the Lions, these teams include the Washington Commanders, Seattle Seahawks, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Leading the Lions is 29-year-old quarterback Jared Goff, who stands at 6 feet 4 inches tall. On the evening of September 30th, Goff and his team took to the field at Ford Field in Michigan, in front of a crowd of 66,658 fans, defeating the Seattle Seahawks with a score of 42-29.

Goff was born in the San Francisco Bay Area and is a University of California alumnus. He was the first overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, selected by the Los Angeles Rams. On January 30, 2021, he was traded to the Detroit Lions.

In this game, Goff marked his 121st career start without an interception, while being sacked three times for a loss of 26 yards. He completed all 18 of his passes for a total of 292 yards, including a long completion of 70 yards and two touchdown passes. Additionally, he collaborated with two teammates on 26 rushing attempts, racking up 118 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns.

Goff’s performance set a new league record for the highest completion percentage in a single game, achieving a perfect 100%. The Lions controlled the ball for 25 minutes and 56 seconds during the game, consistently scoring at least seven points in each quarter, and finishing the first half with a commanding 21-7 lead.
