During an interview on October 8 with officials from the Hulunbuir City Forest Fire Brigade, it was disclosed that the team is actively monitoring a grassland fire that has spread to the China-Mongolia border. This proactive stance is in response to a fire that ignited in Mongolia, posing a potential threat to the border region.
The incident began at 2:45 PM on October 7, when a grassland fire erupted northeast of Arihashate Town in Inner Mongolia’s New Barag Right Banner. The flames spread rapidly towards the Chinese border, prompting swift action from local authorities. The New Barag Right Banner Fire Prevention and Control Command deployed 48 personnel and 12 vehicles, while the Hulunbuir Forest Fire Brigade sent 43 personnel and 10 vehicles to assist in containing the blaze.
By 6 AM on October 8, on-site evaluations showed that, although isolated smoke points were still visible within Mongolian territory, no active flames remained. Officials emphasized that the fire brigade will maintain vigilant oversight of the situation to implement rapid and effective response measures should any new developments occur.
