On October 6th, the Tai Chi Gate Qigong Association held a vibrant celebration at its Cupertino and Santa Clara branches in Silicon Valley, drawing over 150 community members eager to discover the health benefits of qigong and to foster both personal and global peace along with sustainable development.
A standout moment of the event was a keynote address by Dr. Lue Huan-Yi, a renowned expert in traditional Chinese medicine. His presentation, titled “Nurturing Energy for Stronger Muscles and Bones: Bidding Farewell to Pain and Discomfort,” underscored the essential role of qi, or energy, within Chinese medicine. Dr. Lue offered insightful perspectives on how cultivating qi can help alleviate pain, diminish discomfort, and improve overall health.
The event was also filled with lively performances. Young participants energized the atmosphere with an exhilarating drumming display that resonated throughout the venue, lifting everyone’s spirits. Many of these youths, some of whom have been practicing qigong for as long as eight years, captivated the audience with their talent and commitment.
Another highlight was a spirited lion dance, where performers adeptly navigated the heavy lion costume, illustrating the health benefits of qigong while promoting positive energy in daily life. Attendees joined in a festive cake-cutting ceremony to celebrate the anniversary of the two locations.
Guests relished tasty refreshments and participated in engaging activities, including calligraphy, raffles, and various fun games that particularly thrilled younger attendees eager to win prizes. Meanwhile, adults enjoyed a relaxed environment where they exchanged wellness tips and shared personal experiences.
Event organizers emphasized their dedication to promoting a healthy lifestyle through this celebration, echoing the core message of Tai Chi Gate: “Cultivating energy for a joyful life.”
