The 2024 Overseas Chinese Media Tour to Jiangxi Interview Event Concludes, Recording the Beautiful “Red, Ancient and Green” Jiangxi

On October 19, the “Walking China, Reporting China” event for overseas Chinese media concluded its week-long tour in Jiangxi. Journalists from 22 overseas Chinese media outlets across 18 countries and regions, including France, Italy, Romania, Canada, Brazil, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Egypt, explored Jiangxi’s rich history, vibrant culture, ecological beauty, and developmental strides, capturing the enchanting interplay of its “red, ancient, and green” heritage.

**Touching the Red History: Sharing Unforgettable Stories with Overseas Chinese**
Nestled in Southeast China along the banks of the Yangtze River, Jiangxi is renowned as the “Land of Literature and Justice” and the “Home of Bountiful Resources.” This region is steeped in revolutionary history, being home to significant sites such as Jinggangshan, Nanchang, Ruijin, and Anyuan—crucial landmarks in China’s revolutionary past, colored by the blood of countless martyrs.

One of the pivotal stops during the tour was Lushan, known as a literary sanctuary but also marked by the scars of war, embodying the rich political history of modern China. The mountain is dotted with over 600 significant buildings that have witnessed key political events. Among them, the former Lushan Library, now the Lushan Anti-Japanese War Museum, served as a historical witness to the “Anti-Japanese War Declaration.”

After visiting the museum, Zhu Yuhua, president of Italy’s Xinhua Times, expressed her admiration: “Lushan played an essential role during China’s wartime history. When facing foreign invasion, the Chinese people united and fought back. As media professionals, we have the responsibility to share this unforgettable history with the overseas Chinese community.”

**Exploring Ancient Cultural Richness: Using Multimedia to Share Millennia of History**
Jiangxi’s distinct red revolutionary heritage, stunning landscapes, and illustrious cultural history converge to create a region rich in resources and talent. Poets like Tao Yuanming, Ouyang Xiu, and Wen Tianxiang, alongside painters such as Ba Da Shan Ren, have left an indelible mark on China’s cultural legacy.

At the Ba Da Shan Ren Memorial Hall in Nanchang’s Qingyunpu District, Indonesian journalist Pan Xiaoxian captured the essence of Ba Da Shan Ren’s artwork with her phone. “The natural beauty in these paintings brings joy to the heart and allows us to appreciate their deeper meaning,” she remarked.

The Han Dynasty Haihunhou State Ruins, located in Nanchang, showcase the largest and best-preserved vestiges of a Han dynasty city. Brazilian news agency Vice President Yan Jia was awed by the exquisite artifacts on display, which illustrate various aspects of life during that era and reflect the ancient artisans’ exceptional craftsmanship and aesthetic appreciation.

Yan Jia was equally impressed by the Chinese Scholar Culture Park in Jiangxi, stating, “Jiangxi has historically been a hub for scholars. The museum here thoroughly showcases the history of the imperial examination system. I hope to leverage multimedia to share the deep-rooted culture of Luling with the people of Brazil.”

**Documenting the Gorgeous Greenery: Promoting Jiangxi’s Green Ecology to International Audiences**
Jiangxi is famed for its lush landscapes, where green ecology stands as its greatest wealth and asset. The beauty of nature is eloquently described in verses that celebrate its scenic splendor.

Amidst the misty allure of Lushan, Egyptian journalist Zhu Xine exclaimed, “Being enveloped in Lushan’s fog adds a deeper understanding of ‘Not recognizing the true face of Lushan, solely because I am within this mountain.'” With repeated visits to Lushan, she hopes to promote this beautiful site to audiences abroad.

In the fog-shrouded beauty of the Xihu Scenic Area in Jiangxi’s Jiujiang, Cambodian journalist Du Bingyu was enchanted by the picturesque scenery. After experiencing the harmonious blend of water and sky, she committed to sharing her impressions of Xihu with her Cambodian audience, highlighting the beauty China has to offer.

**Witnessing Jiangxi’s High-Quality Development: Red and Green in Harmony with the Past and Present**
The red legacy is Jiangxi’s shining emblem, while the green landscape serves as its most treasured asset and the ancient culture as its profound depth. In recent years, Jiangxi has been leveraging its strategic position to foster high-quality development, with remarkable achievements in its economic and social progression.

Throughout the tour, the journalists visited various cities, including the heroic city of Nanchang, the port city of Jiujiang, and the picturesque Ji’an. There was a consensus among the participants that Jiangxi is undergoing rapid transformations, brimming with new vitality and optimism.

Gao Jin, president of Romania’s European Overseas News, who has visited Jiangxi multiple times, remarked on the province’s commitment to high-quality development, continually observing “significant changes.” He believes that Jiangxi’s blend of red and green, along with its historical richness, will surely lead it confidently down the path of sustainable advancement.

The 2024 “Walking China, Reporting China” tour was jointly organized by the China News Service, the Global Chinese Media Cooperation Alliance, and the Jiangxi International Communication Center. The initiative aimed to provide unique, multifaceted perspectives from overseas Chinese media, capturing and promoting Jiangxi’s ecological beauty, cultural significance, and developmental narrative to the world.
