The second Global Mazu Cultural Forum, commemorating the 15th anniversary of Mazu’s inclusion in UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, recently took place at the United Nations Headquarters. The forum focused on discussions surrounding the legacy of Mazu’s spirit and its global impact. Co-hosted by the World Mazu Cultural Exchange Research Association and the American Mazu Foundation, the event included a message read by Secretary-General of the World Mazu Cultural Exchange Research Association, Zou Jiesheng, from U.S. Congressman Liu Yunping. In his letter, he praised the forum for its contributions to promoting Mazu’s spirit and fostering global cultural exchange.
During the academic sessions, participants engaged in discussions on themes such as “The Impact of Mazu Culture on Humanity” and “The Transmission and Modern Interpretation of Mazu Culture.” The discussions highlighted various academic research findings, aiming to deepen the understanding and contemporary interpretation of Mazu culture.
