On October 15, the Second National Building Fire Prevention Conference kicked off in Binzhou, Shandong Province. The conference, themed “Energizing the ‘New’ and Advancing ‘Quality’,” brought together numerous experts and scholars to share insights on advancements in building fire prevention technologies and industry development. They explored challenges faced in the sector and promoted the integration of industry, academia, and research for innovative progress and high-quality growth.
During the opening ceremony, Fan Jinlong, the General Manager of China Academy of Building Research, addressed the complexities of high-rise buildings, which are often crowded and feature intricate structures. He noted that the emergence of new business models and large commercial complexes, along with additional risks within underground spaces, pose significant fire hazards. Fan emphasized the need for collaboration across industries to strengthen research standards, focus on key core technologies, and facilitate the transformation and upgrading of the industry.
The conference’s main forum officially launched the Joint Council of the National Construction Engineering Fire Protection Association. Additionally, it unveiled the second list of reliable companies in the building fire prevention sector and announced the second batch of experts for the national high-end think tank in this field. The event also included a signing ceremony for industry investments.
From October 16 to 17, the conference will host 21 sub-forums focusing on specialized technical areas such as fire prevention in building design, fire water supply and extinguishing systems, and fire safety in new energy contexts. This initiative aims to provide a platform for various stakeholders to collaboratively explore innovative solutions in fire safety, ultimately enhancing the effectiveness of the fire protection industry in supporting national economic development.
This conference is organized in partnership with several prominent organizations, including the Fire Prevention Research Institute of the China Academy of Building Research, the Building Fire Prevention Committee of the China Engineering Construction Standardization Association, the Comprehensive Technical Subcommittee on Building Fire Protection of the China Architecture Society, and the Fire Prevention Committee of the China Fire Protection Association, along with Shandong Binda Industrial Group. The event gathered over a thousand representatives from the building fire prevention industry.
