Issues such as the widening North-South development gap have become more pronounced, severely damaging the overall interests of the international community, including countries in the Global South. In this context, as a key representative of Global South nations, BRICS countries are deepening strategic trust, pragmatic cooperation, and international collaboration. This leadership is vital for strengthening unity and cooperation among emerging markets and developing nations, promoting a more equitable and orderly multipolar world, and advancing inclusive economic globalization, ultimately injecting more positive, stable, and constructive forces into the global arena.
Standing on the right side of history, BRICS countries are committed to forging a brighter future through shared development and win-win cooperation. The cooperation mechanism bears the shared aspiration of emerging market nations and developing countries for inclusive growth, sustainable development, and a hopeful future. The growing interest from various countries to join BRICS signifies the strong vitality and appeal of this partnership.
As the largest developing country and a member of the Global South, China has consistently played an essential role in the development of the BRICS cooperation mechanism. By proposing the “BRICS+” cooperation model and continuously enhancing it, China has significantly enriched and expanded the scope of BRICS collaboration, establishing a broader network of partnerships globally and creating vast opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation among emerging markets and developing countries.
China has introduced key concepts such as building a community with a shared future for mankind, the Belt and Road Initiative, the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative. These ideas focus on promoting world peace and development, emphasizing that the fates of nations are interconnected and that we must navigate challenges together. They have gained widespread recognition and support from Global South countries, including BRICS nations. China’s wisdom and solutions provide crucial guidance for further developing the BRICS cooperation mechanism.
