In a recent announcement from the Tianjin Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection, it has been revealed that former Party Secretary of Tianjin Radio and Television, Wan Ke, is currently under investigation for serious violations of discipline and the law. This action comes after approval from the Tianjin Municipal Committee of the Communist Party.
The investigation found that Wan Ke had lost faith in the Party’s ideals and principles, displaying disloyalty and dishonesty towards the Party while resisting organizational scrutiny. He allegedly failed to report personal matters truthfully, abused his power during staff recruitment for personal gain, accepted gifts and monetary bribes that could potentially influence his official duties, and coordinated with others to misappropriate the unit’s rightful profits. Furthermore, he was accused of exploiting his position to benefit others in engineering contracts and recruitment, receiving substantial illicit financial gains in the process.
Wan Ke’s actions are classified as severe breaches of the Party’s political, organizational, and ethical disciplines, and they constitute serious violations of official duties, which may involve bribery. Notably, he continued these practices even after the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party, indicating a serious nature and a detrimental impact that warrants strict disciplinary measures.
As a result of the findings from the Tianjin Municipal Commission’s meeting, approved by the Tianjin Municipal Party Committee, a decision has been made to expel Wan Ke from the Party, revoke any benefits he previously enjoyed, confiscate his illicit gains, and transfer his case regarding potential official crimes to the prosecutorial authorities for legal examination and prosecution, along with related assets.
